Fred Sharp's
Django Reinhardt Lecture

For some years, Fred Sharp, the noted USA Django collector and afficionado has been delivering a lecture in Florida, where Fred now lives, based on the life and music of Django. For those of us not lucky enough to be able to attend this lecture, Fred is now making the lecture available on CD. The lecture is split into the following sections:

1. Django - the beginnings
2. 1928-1935 - the 6 String Banjo - Vocal Accompaniments
3. The Birth of The Quintet of the Hot Club of France
4. Django's Blues vs Others' - Improvisation
5. The Composer and the ATC Band 1945
6. Django and BeBop........

Some rare examples of Django's music from Fred's own collection of recordings are included and also some interview material with Charles Delaunay and others.

The quality is excellent and I can thoroughly recommend the CD for newcomers to Django and the more knowledgeable collectors - something for everyone.

Please contact Fred at fsharp8@comcast.net for details of how to purchase.
